Policies ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE The annual registration fee of $65.00 per family is due at the time of registration. The registration fee is used for our piano maintenance and tuning, hall rentals for recitals and accompanist fees. The fee also helps to cover our secretarial and custodial staff, further teacher training and administrative assistance. TUITION The school year is divided into three terms primarily for the purpose of dividing up the tuition payments. Each term will contain about 12 weeks beginning in September and continuing through June. Tuition should be paid in full and in advance of the term. After a grace period of 3 weeks into the term, a late fee of $25.00 will be added to any unpaid balance. The summer term, while not considered optional, is a flexible term. During the summer term families are allowed to indicate on their registration form the weeks that they will be in town and taking lessons. Students must take a minimum of 8 weeks during the summer term in order to hold a place for the fall. The tuition includes a weekly private lesson, all group/theory classes, and concerts. Group classes are not held during the summer session due to students' various vacation schedules but, depending on interest and time available, a Music Mind Games class is sometimes offered for a few weeks. Tuition Checks should be made payable to Oak Park Suzuki School (OPSS). Tuition is non-refundable. (For tuition information please email: office@oakparksuzukischool.com, call 630.886.6183, or click here). MISSED LESSON POLICY Due to heavy teaching and performing schedules, it is not possible to schedule make-up lessons when a student misses a lesson for any reason including illness or pre-arranged vacation. Please do not ask for a make-up. If the teacher misses a lesson, the lesson will either be rescheduled at a time that is convenient for the student, or a credit for the lesson will be given on the next semester's tuition. Parents are encouraged to trade lessons with another student when conflicts arise, but the teacher should not be asked to facilitate a trade. It is the student’s responsibility to verify the time/location of a traded lesson. Please notify the teacher of a cancellation or trade prior to the lesson. |
